THE WOODLAND DRIVE CHURCH MINISTRY TEAM

Pastor Doug Herbert
Hello! My name is Doug Herbert, and I’ve been the Senior Pastor here at Woodland Drive Church since July 2017. I’m an Alberta boy, born and raised in the Camrose area. I’m married to Judy, my college sweetheart, and we’ve got four adult children: Ryan, Jordan, Josh and Christina. Judy and I love living in the beautiful city of Lacombe! We have been involved in pastoral ministry since 1987, having previously served several other churches here in Alberta, as well as one in Nova Scotia.
My formal training and education as a pastor began at Mountain View Bible College, which was in Didsbury, AB, at the time, before it moved to Calgary and became Rocky Mountain College. I also attended Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO, where I earned Master’s and Doctoral Degrees. I find great joy in sharing my love of Scripture, theology, worship and cultural engagement, guided by the insights and convictions of the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition.
I also like to have fun watching movies, drinking coffee, playing board games and various sports, swimming, cycling, and walking – usually accompanied by our lovable furry friends: Scamp and Bella!

Annette Allen
Hi, my name is Annette Allen and have been a member of Woodland Drive Community Church of the Nazarene for about 26 years. I am blessed by Pastor Doug & Judy and our wonderful church family. I am presently serving on the church board as treasurer and as the missions president .
I have 2 grown children and 7 grandchildren who give me much happiness and fun. I love spending time with them and bragging about them to whoever will listen.

Merle Ewing
Merle brings a wealth of experience in various churches and mission teams to his position as a Church Board member and as our Church Board Secretary at Woodland Drive Church. He has blessed our church family in many ways - with his carpentry and handyman skills, his good-natured personality, and - not least - by providing delicious coffee that he himself has roasted!

Judy Herbert
Judy is our church’s Director of Discipleship Ministries. She and Pastor Doug have been a part of the Woodland Drive Church since the summer of 2017. She loves working with her hands, helping people in many different ways, walking and playing with her two Goldendoodles, and enjoying her family - especially her new grandson!

Scott Grimwood
Hi, my name is Scott and I am the new guy on the Leadership Team. I think I am the “prodigal son” of the group, as I was away from the Church of the Nazarene for a long time! My affiliation with this denomination started when I was dedicated at the Prince Albert Church of the Nazarene when I was 7 days old.
My family moved to Jasper in 1967, and it took me close to 35 years to come back to the Church of the Nazarene (here in Lacombe). I am not much for remembering dates, but I think I have been attending here for 4-5 years.
I have been on two mission trips; one in Bhekulwandle, South Africa and the other in Ewarton, Jamaica and they certainly changed my life. The South Africa trip involved helping establish an AIDS clinic at a former Bible College campus and the purpose of the Jamaica trip was to assist with some administration problems they had.
Unlike the other board members, I don't have a position within the group, but I am sure God will find me one. I am ready to serve!
